Installation On Windows Home Server Windows Home Server 2011 Download the WHS 2011 Asset install to your PC (which is used to connect to WHS 2011 through the Dashboard), then run the application from this PC and it will install on WHS. Asset Operation Straight after installation Asset is fully operational automatically sharing all tracks contained in the Music folder (it will take a few minutes to scan the tracks and add them to the library). Asset is a UPnP (DLNA compatible) audio server, UPnP is a method of sharing media content between devices. Typically audio files are stored on a computer, server or NAS, multiple audio devices around the home network can play audio from the UPnP server (devices such as Linn DS, XBox 360, PS3, etc). UPnP UPnP will automatically try to forward ports in your router or modem. Normally this would be a good thing. However, if your system automatically forwards the ports and you leave the credentials defaulted, you may end up with unwanted visitors.
